First plase in 2008 WISN best local band contest!
Looks like your very own little Screamin' Cucumbers took home the blue ribbon from the WISN A-List Best Local Bands contest. Honestly, we're not into the competition part of this but, we ARE absolutely honored to be considered in the same league as the other top finishers. There are some seriously talented bands on this list.

We've decided we aren't going to sit around sipping Mojitos staring at our blue ribbon. Instead, we are going to take this opportunity to double up our efforts and find ways to improve. More songs. More variety. More give aways. More Cuke-tastic party time fun!

THANK YOU!

Mo-tastic Saturday Night Gig
JDFR 08

We finally made it back. For some reason (planet alignment or sun spots maybe) we couldn't get the schedules lined up to get back to Mo's. But that all ended last night. It's always a little weired to start playing to folks while they are still eating but it's all good. I mean really, couple of black and tans and we're good to go. Check out the some photos (where else) on our picture pages. Just for the fun of it, see how many of the fan shots Elise made it into... Sort of a Where's Elise thang.

Stupid Cowboys
JDFR 08

New venue & city this weekend Cuke fans. The Cukes played Anduzzi's Sports Club in Green Bay before the Packers / Cowboys Sunday night game. Being mighty big Packer's fans this was one of the more exciting gigs for us this year. We've been lucky with the new venues this year. Yet another great bar in a great location, about a block from the game. Really friendy staff and super excited packer fans... and cowboy fans.

This was almost too easy. Thanks to everyone at Anduzzi's and we hope we can do a few more Packer's games for you in the near future. Oh yeah and I think we learned that Iowa is full of Packer fans and South Dakota is NOW full of Cuke fans!

Rainy Day at the Zoo
JDFR 08

So it rained. So what. We still had a great time doing our small part helping raise some funds for JDRF. We're happy to do our part and from the great turn out (even in the rain), it looks like Milwaukee is doing everything we can to help.

Happy Birthday Harley!!!!
harleyfest

The Cukes started off with yet another new venue. Lindey's is a great little place right on lake Beulah. We had a great time and can't wait to set up some more gigs. Sure it's a bit of a drive from Milwaukee but it isn't often you find a bar full of people who like Metallica, Pink, Tom Petty, and Sublime!

We also want to send out a big thanks to our Harley friends. Yeah yeah yeah, the schedule got a little mixed up but things like that happen with these huge events. In the end we got to play in front of a bunch bikers, wrestlers (micro & topless), and well porn stars. You don't do that to often! Happy 105th Harley and hopefully we'll get to party with you on the 110th.

Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy....
Bailey's B day

OK it's official. The Screamin' Cucumbers are the #1 Birthday band in Milwaukee. Alright,it isn't official but it could still be true.

Happy Birthday Bailley. You and your friends were a blast. This was only our second time at the Endzone and both times have been great. When is place is so packed you can't get to the bathroom in-between sets, you know its a good night. Hell, makes us dance a little more on stage! Thanks to the great Endzone staff and regulars. You all really know how to have fun on a Sat. night.

If you want to see Bailley, her lovely friends, and the rest of the Endzone crew checkout these pictures.

Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy....
john b day

Our very own velvet voiced, guitar shredding, all around rock-n-roll monster celebrated his 2nd 39th birthday this weekend, and we couldn't have done it in a better place or with a better group of people than all of you at the Coachhouse.

We had a friends from all over, crazy cukesters, family, and even a few x-bandmates in the crowd last night. We appreciate the great support can't think of a better b-day gift. Really, how can make turning 39, again, any better than to spend the night with a bar full of friends?

As always, we have pictures for y'all to checkout.

Private Party at Rookies
wisn award

What happens at a private party blah blah blah... OK what can I say?

We broke in another new venue, Rookies which is always fun for us. Really friendly top notch staff at Rookies. Good stage, Good beer, Good dance floor, huge crowd... what else do you need to know? Get yer butts down to Rookies.

If you need to know how good the party was, well take a look at this picture. Come on this one is worth more than a 1,000 words! And if you need a few more check out the rest of the images from Rookies.

Long Weekend

As you know the Cukes honor the old saying, what happens at a private party stays at the private party. So all we'll say is CONGRATS and we're glad daddy doesn't have to take anymore testsezzes. (we'll share just a couple of party photos though.

Saturday we raised a little hell at the Coachhouse Bar & Grill. Brandon, Rob, and Mick all came down with the flu or something. We were afraid we'd be a little tame for gig but leave it to the crazy Cuke-a-maniacs to pump up the jam (I know lame reference) and keep the place rockin'. That cowboy stomp you'll had going during 500 miles somehow fit with the Scotish duo's tune. And it was so loud you were drowning out the monitors on stage with your boot scootin' banging! If you have to pick and choose when to see the Cukes, pick a night when we're at the Coachhouse. You won't be sorry.

Just like the old days

While out on a date with his wife, our very own Rob "the bass player" was called into active duty for Oil Can Harry last Saturday night. Filling in for with another band with no warning can lead to a really tough night. But Rob was a founding member of Oil Can Harry back in the 90s. Turns out Rob still remember a lot of their tunes and rocked out with his old bandmates without missing a step. If you want to see some pics checkout Oil Can Harry / Bub's Show here.

Packers rally past Seahawks in snowy Green Bay 42-20
Coachhouse story Oh, and the Screamin' Cucumbers ripped it up with the gang at Coachhouse Bar & Grill to kick off our 2008 season. Seriously, can it get and better for a band than to gig in front of some friendly faces after a monster Packer playoff win? To be fair, we had to do this one with our mega talanted and lovely lead vocalist, Elise. She had to spend a little time in Mexico this week so we just had the boys at this one.

Hat's off to our sound engineer Matt. He had to piece together a system after some "drunk" decided the sound board was thirsty. Looks like a Packer win can make up for technical difficulties and being a woman down. I wouldn't want to do it on purpose but hell, we'll take a Packers win and a successful gig anyway we can get it. One more happy birthday to Vince, Sean, Betty Jo, Toni Toni, and the rest of the birthday bunch at Coachhouse last night. We've never seen so many birthdays on the same night. I wonder if the playoff win had a few people enjoying the High Life and fibbin' a little?
